Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $91.4 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, March 3. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $91.4mln at a weighted average rate of 412.15drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on February 24-28, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 7.5mln euros and over 677.7mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 564.91 drams per €1 and 11.44drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $111.7mln, over €9.7mln and over 120.6mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 413.29drams, 568.30drams and 11.60drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (February 17-23) totalled 37.7bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $37.3mln. ($1=413.15drams). N.V. –0–
