Transactions with securities at Nasdaq OMX Armenia in February soared to 7.75 billion drams from 703.2 million drams in January

YEREVAN, March 4. / ARKA /. The amount of transactions with securities effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange in February 2014 soared to 7.75 billion drams from 703.2 million drams in January, according to the data of the exchange.

The surge, according to the exchange, was due to a large amount of transactions with government and corporate bonds in the national currency.

The amount of transactions with government bonds in February amounted to about 6.269.5 billion drams or 73.7% of the total amount of transactions with securities at the exchange. The amount of transactions with dram-denominated eurobonds amounted to 517.6 million drams.

The total amount of transactions with corporate bonds in February amounted to about 755.4 million drams, of which 755. 2 million drams were in the national currency and 145.6 million drams in foreign currency, including dram-denominated eurobonds issued by EBRD, IFC, which were listed at the exchange in February and Araratbank bonds. No transactions with corporate bonds in the national currency were effected last month.

The amount of transactions with shares during the reporting month amounted to 1. 475.6 billion drams.

According to an Arka analysis, based on aggregated data of NASDAQ OMX Armenia, government bonds, as well shares and corporate bonds of five companies and two international organizations were traded last month at the stock exchange. ($ 1 – 413.60 drams). -0-
