Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $93.1 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, March 24. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $93.1mln at a weighted average rate of 414.28drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on March 17-21, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, over 5.7mln euros and about 630.2mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 573.88 drams per €1 and 11.30 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, over $110.2mln, about €10.2mln and 125.8mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 415.47drams, 577.20drams and 11.48drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (March 10-16) totalled 39.7bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $50mln. ($1=414.37drams).–0–
