Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $148.8 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, May 12. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $148.8mln at a weighted average rate of 412.8drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on April 28 – May 8, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 12.8mln euros and about 1.2bln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 571.11 drams per €1 and 11.49 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $169.2mln, about €18.25mln and 194.7mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 413.91drams, 575.1drams and 11.65drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (April 21 – May 4) totalled 64bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $83.4mln. ($1=413.19drams). –0–
