Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $115.3 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, May 19. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $115.3mln at a weighted average rate of 413.07drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on May 12-16, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 5.9mln euros and 852.7mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 566.9 drams per €1 and 11.75 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $109.4mln, about €16.6mln and 134.2mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 414.11drams, 570.87drams and 11.91drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (May 5-11) totalled 35.3bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $35.2mln. ($1=413.83drams). –0–
