Private transfers to Armenia rose to about $133.3mln in April

YEREVAN, June 4. /ARKA/. Private transfers to Armenia through the country’s banking system amounted to about $133.3 million in April, an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period of 2013, The Central Bank of Armenia says on its website.

The increase in transfers in April was 6.1% compared to the month before.

Transfers from Armenia amounted to about $30.3 million against $29.1 million in the same period of 2013. Net inflow was about $102.97 million in the period compared to $102.4 million in April 2013.

The bulk of transfers to Armenia, about 81.8%, are from Russia. Money transfers from Russia to Armenia amounted to about $109 million in April (0.5% decrease); transfers from Armenia to Russia were $17.8mln (1.1% increase).

According to the Central Bank, transfers to Armenia totaled about $1,869.7 million or about 17.3% of GDP in 2013. ($1=413.59drams).–0–

The average market exchange rate of the U.S. dollar to the Armenian dram on March 7, 2025, remained at 394.58 drams, unchanged compared to March 6.

Central Bank leaves refinancing rate unchanged taking into account high uncertainty in US economic policy

The Central Bank of Armenia decided today to leave the refinancing rate unchanged at 6.75% taking into account a set of factors such as  the continued high uncertainty surrounding the US economic policy, declining confidence in the global economy, growth slowdown and  a possible  weakening demand in Armenia, the head of the regulator Martin Galstyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.
