Armenian banking cards used in 2014 April to make 5.6 billion drams worth transactions outside the country

YEREVAN, June 10. / ARKA /.  Armenian banking cards were used outside the country in 2014 April to make around 123,400 transactions worth around 5.65 billion drams, according to the monthly bulletin of the Central Bank of Armenia for April.

The number of transactions grew by 0.07 percent from the previous month while the amount of transactions was 3.6 percent down, it said.

Of that amount 3.7 billion drams were non-cash transactions, by 0.7 percent less  than in March 2014. Plastic cards were used also to withdraw 1.9 billion drams worth currency, down from 2.1 billion drams in March (an 8.8 percent decline).

There are 21 commercial banks in Armenia of which 19 are members of the single payment system ArCa. . ($1 – 412.86 drams). -0-
