Transactions totaling AMD 100 billion made in Armenia in May 2014 by using payment cards

YEREVAN, July 14. /ARKA/. Some 2, 052,722 transactions totaling AMD 100 billion were made in May 2014 by using the payment cards issued by Armenian and foreign banks via all the types of services in Armenia’s territory.

The number of transactions is 1.5% greater and the amount is 0.4% larger than in April 2014, the Central Bank of Armenia reports in its monthly bulletin.

According to the report, 127,339 Internet transactions worth AMD 1.9 billion were effected in May 2014 by using payment cards issued by Armenian and foreign banks – 2.8% and 4.1% decline respectively.

Transactions made via ATMs by using payment cards issued by Armenian and foreign banks totaled AMD 77.1 billion (0.8% month-on-month growth), and their number grew 1.6% to 1,686,198.

Transactions through POS terminals and imprinters by using payment cards totaled AMD 21 billion (0.6% decline), and the number of transactions rose 3.2% to 239,185. ($1 – 407.69).  —0—
