Regulator: Armenian banks change their 12-month inflation outlook upward – from 4.7% to 5%

YEREVAN, September 29. /ARKA/. Armenian banks have upped their 12-month inflation outlook from 4.7% to 5%, the Central Bank of Armenia said in its regular report on the monetary policy implementation in the second quarter and program for the third quarter.

“The latest survey of financial organizations and households shows that inflation outlooks have changed upward,” the regulator says in the report.

Credit organizations’ outlooks went up as well – to 4.8% from the previous 4.2%, while the surveyed households’ outlooks changed downward – from 4.9% to 4.6%.

Market interest rates are expected to be stable.

The regulator’s forecast, the 12-month inflation will stand within 2.5%-5.5% frames in 2014.
In the 2014 government budget, inflation is projected at 4% (±1.5%). –0–
