Ameriabank plans to hold first IPO in next 2-3 years

YEREVAN, October 9. / ARKA /. Armenian Ameriabank plans to hold the first IPO in the next 2-3 years, the Bank’s CEO, Artak Hanesyan said today.

“The Bank has decided unequivocally to move towards IPO, but does not consider it an end in itself”, he said.

Hanesyan said the IPO should be preceded by serious work, including improvement of corporate governance, which is quite a lengthy process.

“I hope that over the next 2-3 years we will be able to do all the preparatory work, and capital markets will provide us with an opportunity for successful IPO”,  said Hanesyan.

Earlier Hanesyan told ARKA that Ameriabank planned to hold its first IPO in 2016.
Today Ameriabank CJSC and FMO (Netherlands Development Finance Company) signed a USD 20mln convertible subordinated debt facility agreement.

“It is the convertible subordinate debt agreement signed between an International Financial Institution (IFI) and an Armenian bank symbolizing the growth of trust of international investors towards the Armenian banking sector,” Ameriabank said in a press release.

Ameriabank is a universal bank that provides investment, corporate and retail banking services in the form of a comprehensive package of banking solutions. It is the first investment bank in Armenia that has been providing a wide range of innovative banking services since 2007. –
