Armenia expected to receive AMD 26.2 billion next year from other countries and international organizations in grants

YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Armenia is expected to receive AMD 26.2 billion from other countries and international organizations in 2015 in grants, Pavel Safaryan, the first deputy finance minister, said Tuesday while discussing the 2015 draft budget with the National Assembly’s committees.

In his words, the expectation is grounded on already signed agreements or preliminary arrangements with donors.

In particular, Armenia will receive €20 million or AMD 10.8 billion in 2015 under the European Neighborhood Policy’s Armenia- EU activity program.

Safaryan said that the country will get $27.4 million or AMD 15.4 billion as official special-purpose grants, of which $16.1 million or AMD 6.6 billion will come as part of the European Union’s grant programs, $3.7 million or AMD 1.5 billion as the World Bank’s grant programs and $5.8 million or AMD 2.4 billion from Germany’s KfW Development Bank.

Another $8.7 million or AMD 3.6 billion will be donated by the European Investment Bank for construction of the North-South Road.

In addition, Denmark has pledged $2 million or AMD 0.8 billion for creating new opportunities for rural communities.

Grants for other purposes will amount to $1.1 million or AMD 0.5 billion. –0–
