Armenian banks’ overdue loans hike 9.6 percent to 30.3 bln drams in October

YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks’ overdue loans were 9.6 percent up in late October from the previous month standing at 30.3 billion drams, making 1.58% of total loans, according to the latest numbers released by the National Statistical Service (NSS).

Some 74.6% of overdue loans or about 22.6 billion drams were short-term loans.

At the same time, extended loans in the reporting period of time amounted to about 105 billion drams, having decreased by 13%. Of that amount about 41.35 billion drams were short term loans, according to the NSS.

Credit investments of the banks as of late October were said to have amounted to 1,784.6 billion drams, a 2.1% increase from the previous month. Some 1,114.1 million drams were loans in foreign currencies.

As of October 2014 the total loans of Armenian banks stood at about 1,920 billion drams. ($ 1 – 459.09 drams). –0–
