Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $73 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $73mln at a weighted average rate of 477.86 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on February 9 to 13, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 4.5 mln euros and about 585.1 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 540.88 drams per €1 and 7.18 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $80.4mln, €8.5mln and about 266 mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 479.85 drams, 547.27drams and 7.44drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (February 2-8) totaled about 30 bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $36.4mln. ($1=478.91drams). –0–
