Armenian banks’ overdue loans in January 2015 were 10% higher from previous month

YEREVAN, March 9. / ARKA /. Armenian commercial banks’ overdue loans in January 2015 were 10% higher when compared to the previous month, standing at 35.8 billion drams or 1.7% of the total lending, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today. It said about 67% or 23.99 billion drams of overdue loans were short-term loans.

At the same time, the extended loans stood at approximately 125.5 billion drams, by 1.8% higher from the previous month, of which about 51 billion drams were short-term loans.

According to NSS, credit investments of the banks in January 2015 were by 2.7% lower from the previous month standing at over 1.9 trillion drams. Of that amount the equivalent of about 1.3 trillion drams were foreign currency loans.

As of late January 2015 the total lending by Armenian banks stood at about 2.1 trillion drams, a decline of 2.2% from the previous month. ($ 1 – 479.59 drams). -0-
