Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $86 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, June 8. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $86 mln at a weighted average rate of 476.61 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on June 1 to 5, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 8.2 mln euros and about 808.4 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 524.85 drams per €1 and 8.81 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $88.4mln, €11.1mln and about 257.6 mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 478.22 drams, 529.91 drams and 9.02drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (May 25 to 31) totaled about 32.2bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $50mln. ($1=476.86 drams). –0–
