Armenia posts 4.2% twelve-month inflation in July

YEREVAN, August 10. /ARKA/. Consumer prices index rose by 4.2% in Armenia in July 2015 compared to July 2014, the National Statistical Service (NSS) reported.

Food price index (including for alcoholic drinks and tobacco products) was 102.8% in July 2015 against the same month of the year before; the price index was 106.5% for nonfoods and 103.6% for services, according to the report.

According to NSS, Armenia’s consumer prices rose by 5% as of the end of January-July period against the same period of 2014, due to 5.2% rise in prices for foods, 5.8% rise in nonfoods prices and 3.7% hike of the service prices.

At the same time, 2.2% deflation was seen in the consumer market in July against June this year, mainly due to 4.6% reduction in food prices.

The budgeted inflation level for 2015 is 4% (±1.5%) and budgeted GDP growth is 4.1%. –0–
