Private and corporate deposits in Armenian banks grow by 2.3% in six months to 1.069 trillion drams

YEREVAN, August 19. / ARKA /. Armenian private and corporate bank deposits grew by 2.3% in the first six months of the year to 1.069 trillion drams, according to ARKA news agency’s financial and economic bulletin “Banks of Armenia” showing the performance of Armenian banks in the second quarter of 2015.

Ameriabank was the number one bank by the size of individual and corporate deposits, which stood at 112.2 billion drams, an increase of 10.5% from the beginning of the year.

The amount of individual and private entrepreneurs deposits at Armbusinessbank increased by 10.49% in the reporting period of time to 112.1 billion drams. The deposits at HSBC Bank Armenia grew by 10.19% to 108.9 billion drams and deposits at VTB Bank (Armenia) surged by 9.85% to 105.3 billion drams.

Ardshinbank was the fifth bank in terms of individual and corporate deposits which stood at 98.3 billion drams, having increased by 9.2% from the beginning of the year.

Time deposits of individuals and private entrepreneurs grew by 2.8% to 885.4 billion drams, while demand deposits decreased by 0.03% to 183.6 billion drams ($ 1 – 478.05 drams). -0-
