3.6% increase in consumer prices in Armenia in August 2015

YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. Consumer prices in Armenia rose 3.6% in August 2015, compared with August 2014, the Natinal Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

The year-on-year index of prices for foods, alcoholic drinks and tobacco products was 102.9% in August 2015.

That of nonfoods was 106.5% and services 101.4%.

Consumer prices climbed 4.8% in Jan-Aug 2015, compared with the same period a year before.
Foods went 4.9% up, nonfoods rose 5.9% and services 3.4%.

According to the statistical report, 0.1% inflation was recorded at consumer market. The inflation was mostly due to 0.3 percent increase in food prices.

In the government budget for 2015, inflation was projected at 4% (±1.5%) and GDP growth at 4.1%. –0–
