Armenian banks’ total liquidity indicators rose by 0.7 percentage point in July to 26% – Central Bank

YEREVAN, September 9. / ARKA /. Armenian banks’ total liquidity indicators (highly liquid assets / total assets) rose by 0.7 percentage point in July to overall 26%, according to data, placed on the Central Bank’s official website.

The banks’ liquidity indicators due to a serious devaluation of the Armenian national currency, the dram, and its aftereffects, had been showing a downward trend since November 2014.

According to the Central Bank, current liquidity (high liquid assets / demand liabilities) for the reported period increased by 2.5% to 140.7%.

Today the banks exceed substantially the statutory minimum established by the regulator both for total liquidity, which is 15% and current liquidity, which is 60%. -0-
