Armenian currency continues gaining strength

YEREVAN, September 22. / ARKA /. The average market exchange rate of US dollar was 477.59 drams today, 1.45 points down from September 18, the Central Bank of Armenia said.

The Armenian national currency has been gaining strength since September 11, when the greenback traded on average at 485.08 drams. The Armenian dram has been showing a mixed trend this year, but in general, exchange rate fluctuations were moderate, it said.

At Nasdaq OMX Armenia stock exchange the USD traded today at 476 drams, by 0.88% down from the previous indicator. The exchange said one transaction with USD was effected today worth $100,000 (the equivalent of 47.6 million drams). No transactions with euros were made, it said. The euro traded today at 534.08 drams on average.-0-
