Armenian banks buy $113.9 million from local forex market

YEREVAN, October 5. / ARKA /. Armenian banks bought some $113.9 million from the local foreign exchange market from September 28 to October 2 at the weighted average exchange rate of 473.93 drams per one US Dollar, the Central Bank said today.

They also bought 9.2 million euros paying 528.02 drams per a Euro and 2.3 billion Russian rubles at the weighted average exchange rate of 7.2 drams per 1 ruble.

In the same time span the banks sold about $125.7 million, €13.1 million and about 374.6 million Russian rubles at the weighted average exchange rates of 475.32, 532.52 and 7.29 drams respectively, the Central bank said.

The banks also gave 36.7 billion drams worth loans in the Armenian currency from September 21 to September 27 and $31.5 million worth loans in US Dollars. ($ 1 – 473
