Armenia’s monetary base in January 2016 decreases by 4.7% from 2015 December

YEREVAN, March 3. /ARKA/. Armenia’s monetary base in January 2016 decreased by 4.7% from 2015 December to about 877.3 billion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today citing the preliminary data of the Central Bank.

It said also cash outside the Central Bank at the end of January fell to 363.7 billion drams from 413.6 billion drams in December 2015.

Correspondent accounts in the national currency fell to about 311.5 billion drams from 322.7 billion drams at the end of December 2015, while accounts in foreign rose to the equivalent of 193.27 billion drams from 182.8 billion drams at the end of December.

Net international reserves at the end of January 2016 stood at over 484 billion drams, having decreased by 2.4% from December of the previous year.

The amount of net domestic assets during the reporting period fell to approximately 392.3 billion drams from 424.3 billion drams at the end of 2015 December. ($ 1- 490.48 drams). -0-
