Overdue loans of Armenian banks grew by 0.3 percent in March

YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. Armenian banks’ overdue loans  increased by 0.3% in March 2016 from the previous month  to 45.5 billion drams,  the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today.

According to NSS data,  the share of short- term overdue loans decreased by 1.2% to 24.8 billion drams,  while the share of long-term overdue loans increased by 2.1% to 20.7 billion drams. The extended loans grew by 0.2% to  114 billion drams.

The lending in March rose by 0.24%  to 1.974.7 trillion drams, with loans in foreign currency decreasing  by 0.32% to the equivalent of 1.316.5 trillion drams, while loans in Armenian drams grew by 1.4% to 658.5 billion.

At  the end of March, Armenian banks’ total lending stood at 2.134.5 trillion drams, a 0.23%  rise form the previous month.-0-
