Total trading at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange in first quarter halves

YEREVAN, June 7. /ARKA/. The total trading at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange in the first quarter of 2016 halved from the same time span of 2015 to about 4.9 billion drams, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS) of Armenia.

According to NSS, transactions with government bonds grew by more than 3 times to about 3.4 billion drams), while transactions with corporate bonds slashed by about 5 times to about 968 million drams.

Also transactions with shares fell to about 445.6 million drams from about 4 billion drams in the first quarter of 2015 and REPO transactions amounted to 119.3 million drams.

Overall, some 190 transactions were effected at the stock exchange and 18 companies were listed.
At the same time, the amount of transactions, effected by persons providing investment services amounted to 740.9 billion drams.

Twenty-one bank and 8 firms were providing investment services in the first quarter of this year. There were also 18 securities issuing entities.

NASDAQ OMX Armenia is the only stock exchange currently operating in Armenia. On January 26, 2009, “Armenian Stock Exchange” ojsc was officially renamed as “NASDAQ OMX Armenia” ojsc. On June 5, 2009, “NASDAQ OMX Armenia” ojsc became the owner of 100% of the shares of the “Central Depository of Armenia” ojsc. ($ 1- 478.30 drams). -0-
