Yerevan to host meeting of Netherlands- Belgium group of IMF and World Bank

YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. In 2017 June Armenia’s capital Yerevan will be hosting a regular meeting of countries, which are members of the Netherlands-Belgium group at  the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, the Central Bank of Armenia said today.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the group in Kiev, Ukraine, June 3-5 this year, which was attended by a delegation from Armenia headed by the chairman of the Central Bank Arthur Javadyan.

During the meeting, Javadyan made a proposal to hold the next meeting of the group in Armenia given the fact that in 2017 Armenia’s cooperation with the IMF and the World Bank will become 25 years old.

The proposal was approved by the member states, despite the fact that it was initially planned to be held in Croatia.

The Netherlands -Belgium group of IMF and WB includes Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Israel, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldova, Netherlands, Romania, Ukraine, and Montenegro. The chairman of the subgroup is Menno Snel, who represents the interests of member countries in the IMF Executive Board. -0-
