Armenian central bank chairman off to Basel for a meeting of bank for international settlements

YEREVAN, June 24. /ARKA/. The chairman of Armenia’s Central Bank Arthur Javadyan has left for Basel (Switzerland) to participate in the 86th Annual General Meeting of the Bank for International Settlements.

The Central Bank of Armenia said the gathering will discuss current issues of financial regulation. It also said that Javadyan will have a set of meetings with heads of various financial organizations.

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS), founded in 1930,  is one of the oldest international financial organizations in the world with  head office in Basel.

One of the main goals of the organization is to support central banks in their pursuit of monetary and financial stability and development of international cooperation. -0-
