YEREVAN, September 7. /ARKA/. Areximbank-Gazprombank Group, the Armenian subsidiary of one of the biggest Russian banks –Gazprombank- gave several copies of unique encyclopedia “Russia-Armenia. Regions of Russia and marzes of Armenia” to schools in Noravan and Lukashin rural communities in Armavir marz (province).

Aleksandr Hakobyan, the head of Marketing and Advertising unit of the bank, described the Encyclopedia as ‘a fundamental reference book, summarizing and systematizing information on specific events, phenomena and objects, which are reflected in the history and cultural life of our economies and peoples.”

The book includes such sections as: geography, mineral wealth, history, population, religion, power, economy, social sphere, sights,  development strategies of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia, various feature articles, as well as information about prominent public figures of the past and present.

“Among those who helped compile this encyclopedia are Russian and Armenian MPs, provincial governors, the Russian Embassy in Armenia, as well as our shareholder, the Russian Gazprombank. Therefore,  it is natural that Areximbank has joined this project at a certain stage. Today, we have given  several copies of the book to Armenian schoolchildren, cementing the gift by words of the great Russian writer Dostoevsky: “Read books, and life will do the rest,” Hakobyan was quoted as saying in an Areximbank-Gazprombank Group’s press release. -0-
