Stepan Gishyan charitable foundation established by ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK provides first grants

YEREVAN, May 10. /ARKA/.  The Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation, created by ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, provided the first grants, the bank’s press service reports. The foundation was established by in 2015 by ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, the French Agricole Credit Bank, the National Federation Credit Agricole and the family of Gishyan.

On the birthday of Stepan Gishyan, the foundation summed up the results of the grant programs announced in early 2017. According to the decision of the fund this year, the assistance will be provided to the programs of the Miasin Fund (Together), the community of the Noyemberyan Sports School in Tavush Region, the charitable organization Liarzhek kank (Full Life), the Imman. LA Orbeli of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.

“I want to thank all those organizations and individuals who have announced cooperation with the fund from the Board of Trustees and on my behalf, I hope that we will continue cooperation in the future,” said Anna Gishyan, the fund’s director.

According to her, the main goal of the foundation is to continue Stepan’s business, his thinking, to realize his worldview through various social programs.

Stepan Gishyan was chairman of the board from 1995 to 2000, and from 2000 to 2006 – general director of the Peasant Mutual Assistance Bank of Armenia. Since 2006, he was the CEO of ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, and since 2003 – also the General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC “AGBA Leasing” – the first leasing organization registered in Armenia.
He headed the Union of Banks of Armenia in different years.

Stepan Gishyan died prematurely on March 22, 2014 at the age of 49 due to illness.
“ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK” CJSC (formerly the Bank for Peasant Mutual Assistance of Armenia, ACBA) was founded in 1995 as part of the European Union’s TACIS program.
