Banks in Armenia increase lending to residents by 1.5% to AMD 2 179.6 billion in April

YEREVAN, June 2. /ARKA/. In April 2017, banks in Armenia increased their lending to residents by 1.5% to AMD 2 179.6 billion, the Central Bank of Armenia says on its website.

According to the central bank’s report, loans in drams totaled AMD 772 billion in late April after growing 0.03% over one month and loans in foreign currencies amounted to AMD 1407.5 billion showing a 2.3% month-on-month growth.

The loans provided to companies grew 2.9% to AMD 1 243.7 billion, where loans in the national currency totaled AMD 198.6 billion and in foreign currencies AMD 1 045.1 billion.

Lending for households shrank 0.1% to AMD 796.5 billion, where loans in drams amounted to AMD 505.6 billion and in foreign currencies to AMD 290.9 billion.

Aggregate loans totaled AMD 2 474.3 billion in April (1% growth). ($1 – AMD 482.14). –0—-
