Money transfers to Armenia show positive growth trend

YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. Money transfers sent to Armenia in June 2017 increased by 9.1% when compared to 2016 May to $148 million, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) said in a monthly review of macroeconomic indices across the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

According to the review, however, the amount was less than in May 2017, when money transfers surged by 41.5% from May 2016 to $155 million.

According to analysts of the Bank, the amount of money transfers to some EEU member states from Russia depend largely on the pace of recovery of the Russian economy and the stability of their national currencies. -0-
