World Bank funded $2.3 billion worth projects in Armenia over 25 years

YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. Ninety-five projects have been implemented in Armenia over the last 25 years with the assistance of the World Bank, worth $2.3 billion. Today, the bank’s credit portfolio in Armenia is $620 million, according to a statement placed on the official website of the Armenian government.

The government said that Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan participated today in a forum dedicated to the 25 years of partnership between Armenia and the World Bank. Speaking at the forum Karapetyan noted that Armenia attaches importance to close and ongoing cooperation with the World Bank.

He said that World Bank is one of Armenia’s key partners. ‘We successfully cooperate in all sectors of the economy. Over the last 25 years, with the assistance of the World Bank, we have implemented numerous programs aimed at the formation of modern institutions, development and progress,” he said.

According to him, today the government of Armenia has initiated and is implementing radical reforms and system programs for the country’s modernization, which requires mobilization of available resources, as well as increasing the efficiency of their use and closer cooperation with partners. -0-
