Around $78.9 million bought by Armenian banks last week

YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. Armenia’s commercial banks bought around $78.9 million from the local foreign currency market on February 26 to March 2 at the average weighted exchange rate of 480.19 drams per one USD, the Central Bank of Armenia reported on Monday.

It said the banks also bought 10 million euros and 587.85 million Russian rubles at the average weighted exchange rates of 587.85 and 8.51 drams per one euro and one ruble respectively.

The banks also sold about $85.7 million, € 16.6 million and 591.3 million rubles at average weighted exchange rates of 481.50, 591.30 and 8.60 drams respectively.

No dollar exchange transactions have been effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange over the mentioned period.

In addition, from February 19 to 25, the banks have provided 54.3 billion drams worth loans in the national currency and $39.1 million worth loans in USD. ($ 1- AMD 480.73 drams). –0—-
