Consumer lending by Armenian banks grew by 4% to 532.2 billion drams

YEREVAN, March 21. /ARKA/. Consumer lending by Armenian banks at the end of January, 2018 amounted to 532.2 billion drams, an increase of 4% when compared to 2017 December, the Central Bank said. It said consumer loans provided in Armenian national currency, the dram, amounted to 429.6 billion drams, and loans in foreign currency – to the equivalent of 102.6 billion drams.

Consumer lending provided through banking cards constituted 185.5 billion drams (an increase of 0.91%), car loans were worth 5.5 billion drams (a 3.76% decline), loans for the purchase of household appliances totaled 71.4 billion drams (a growth by 0.86%), gold-secured loans – 97.8 billion drams (an increase of 2.6%), other consumer loans – 171.8 billion drams (10.46% growth).

In late 2017, consumer lending by Armenian banks grew by 17.8% to 511.4 billion drams. ($ 1 – 480.26 drams). -0-
