Armenian banks’ extended loans grew by 11 percent to 107.1 billion drams

YEREVAN, May 31. /ARKA /. The amount of extended loans of Armenian banks at the end of April 2018 stood at 107.1 billion drams, an increase of 11% from the previous month, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.

It should be noted that in early May, Armenian banks said they would not apply fines and penalties to their clients for late payments of loans due to the mass street protests.

According to the NSC, in April, the volume of overdue loans increased by 5.1% to 34.6 billion drams.
The overall lending of Armenian banks to the economy at the end of April stood at 2 620.6 trillion drams (an increase of 1.28% from the previous month).

Loans in foreign currency amounted to the equivalent of 1.621.4 trillion drams (an increase of 0.1%), and loans in Armenian drams to 999.2 billion drams (an increase of 3.2%). ($ 1 – 482.83 drams). -0-
