1.6% year-on-year inflation recorded in Armenia in May 2018

YEREVAN, June 8. /ARKA/. Consumer prices in Armenia rose 1.6% in May 2018, compared with May 2017, the National Statistical Committee reported on Thursday.

Prices for foods, spirits and tobacco products slid 0.1% down, while nonfoods and services went 5.2% and 1.7% up respectively.

In May 2018, compared with the previous month, consumer prices slipped 1% due to the 2.8 percent month-on-month decrease in food prices.

In Jan-May 2018, compared with the same period a year earlier, consumer prices went 2.8% up.

In the government budget for 2018, inflation is projected at 4% (±1.5%). –0—
