Converse Bank will fund the work connected with opening of Argentine Center in Yerevan

YEREVAN, November 13. /ARKA/. Converse Bank said today it will fund the work connected with opening of the Argentine Center at Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences after Valery Brusov. A memorandum of cooperation has been signed for this purpose.

According to the memorandum, Converse Bank has undertaken to pay the costs of renovation, equipping and furnishing the classroom intended for establishment of the Argentine Center. Participation in projects aimed at shaping, development, and promotion of educational environment is one of the most important directions of Converse Bank’s corporate social responsibility.

Establishment of the Argentine Center at Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences after Valery Brusov is another undertaking funded by Converse Bank, aimed at improving the quality of education and conditions for education at the University, and strengthening the Armenian-Argentine intercultural relations”, said Artur Hakobyan, Chief Executive Officer of Converse Bank.

In particular, in 2018, with the support by Converse Bank, the All-Armenian Tournament of Young Chemists was held, the educational conditions at two schools in Gyumri were improved, as well as a contest in fintech ideas was conducted at the initiative and with support of Converse Bank within the framework of “Sevan Startup Summit 2018”.

“This is an exceptional case when an initiative aimed at strengthening of educational and intercultural relations is implemented with the support of a business structure – Converse Bank. Opening of the Argentine Center will enable the University to involve specialists invited from Argentina in the educational process, will promote development of Armenian-Argentine educational and cultural relations”, said Karine Harutyunyan, Rector of Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences after Valery Brusov.

Renovation work has already started at the Argentine Center. Opening of the Center is scheduled for the beginning of next year.

Converse Bank was registered on December 20, 1993. The bank’s shareholders are Advanced Global Investments” LLC (Argentina) with 80.94%, Armenian Apostolic Church with 5% and HayPost Trust Management B.V. Company with 14.06%. -0-
