Insurance companies collected 19.5 billion drams in insurance premiums in 2018, by 5.5% more than in 2017

YEREVAN, February 27. /ARKA/. According to the Armenian Bureau of Car Insurers, some 902,365 compulsory vehicle insurance contracts were concluded un 2018, up from 810,026 in 2017. Insurance companies also collected a total of 19.5 billion drams in insurance premiums, by 5.5% more than in 2017.

Six Armenian insurance companies received last year 67,401 car insurance compensation claims, up from 60,588 in 2017. The amount of paid compensation claims grew by 16.8% to 13.9 billion drams.

The mandatory insurance against physical damage caused to other cars and individuals became mandatory in Armenia on January 1, 2012. ($1 – 488.83 drams). -0-
