Armenian dram among strongest national currencies in former Soviet Union’s space

YEREVAN, July 29. /ARKA/. The Armenian dram is among the four strongest national currencies of former Soviet republics that rose against the US dollar over a period between July 18 and 25, vestifinance.ru reports referring to Alpari Research and Analysis Center. The other six currencies shed against the dollar.

Alpari Research and Analysis Center uses the official exchange rates of central banks.

The Ukrainian hryvnia rose higher (+1.36 percentage points) than other countries’ currencies against the dollar. The Moldovan leu (+0.68 p.p.) came second in the ranking, the Belarusian ruble third (+0.29 p.p.) and the Armenian dram fourth (+0.09 p.p.).

Instead, the Georgian lari shed 1.11 p.p. against the dollar, the Uzbekistani sum slid 0.46 p.p., the Russian ruble slipped 0.27 p.p., the Kyrgyzstani som went 0.13 p.p., the Kazakhstani tenge 0.06 p.p. and the Tajikistani somoni 0,001 p.p.
