Mortgage lending by Armenia-based commercial banks almost doubled

YEREVAN, September 17. /ARKA/. The mortgage lending by Armenia-based commercial banks has almost doubled, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference in Vanadzor on Monday.

He said in the first seven months of 2019 a total of 84.5 billion drams worth mortgage loans had been provided, by 90.5% more than in the same time span of 2018.

He also recalled that in July 2019, the number of real estate transactions increased by 17.1% from the year before, while transactions with industrial property grew by 11.7%.

“It is noteworthy that the growth was due to real estate transactions, registered outside the capital Yerevan,” Pashinyan said. ($1 – 476.18 dram) .– 0—
