Pashinyan: Armenia’s central bank buys another $15 million this year

YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Central Bank has bought $15 million from the local forex market, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday. Earlier, on January 23, Pashinyan said the regulator bought $5 million.

“Thus, during this year, the Central Bank has purchased a total of $20 million. This indicates that the influx of currency into Armenia continues. A good economic year has begun,” Pashinyan wrote in a Facebook post.

On January 25, Pashinyan said Armenia’s international reserves at the end of 2019 stood at $2 billion 849 million, which was by $90 million or 26% more than at the end of 2018. In 2019, the Central Bank bought a total of $565 million. -0-
