YEREVAN, February 11. /ARKA/. A 12-month inflation in Armenia is recorded at 0.7 in 2019, while in December 2019 this indicator stood at 1.3%, the board of the Central Bank of Armenia placed this on record at its session held on January 24 and released the information on Monday.
The central bank says that the inflation was mainly due to some change in prices for foods and soft drinks, where prices for vegetables and fruits rose significantly – by 19.9% and 4.9% respectively (their aggregate contribution to the inflation is 1.3 percentage points).
Some increase was seen also in prices for services – 0.2%. Prices here rose mostly in Transport and Leisure Organization segments – 0.3% and 2.6% respectively.
“The natural 12-month inflation was demonstrating a stable behavior in recent months – it stood at 0.7% by the end of the year,” the regulator’s board says in its report.
In the 2019 government budget, economic growth was projected at 4.9% and inflation at 2.7%. -0—
