Armenian commemorative coins wins third place at international competition

YEREVAN, January 11. /ARKA/. The silver commemorative coin, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the world famous Armenian composer and musicologist Komitas, issued by the Central Bank of Armenia in 2019, took 3rd place in the Coin of the Year nomination at the 14th international competition Coin Constellation 2020 in the Russian Federation, Armenia’s Central Bank reported.

It said the coin was designed by Vardan Vardanyan (obverse) and Eduard Kurginyan (reverse). The coins were minted at the Lithuanian Mint House.

The competition displayed 159 commemorative coins issued in circulation in 2019 in 17 countries.

In July 2025, the average settlement rate of the Armenian dram to the US dollar was 384.1 drams, which is 1% lower than the same indicator in June 2024 (388.1 drams).
