Armenian commercial banks paid 32.9 billion drams in taxes in first half of 2022

YEREVAN, July 26. /ARKA/.  Sixteen out of 17 Armenia-based commercial banks are in the list of the 1000 largest corporate taxpayers in the first half of 2022 having paid about 32.9bln drams in various taxes, according to the State Revenue Committee (SRC).

Of that amount about 32.7bln drams were collected by tax authorities and 211.4 million drams by   customs bodies.

According to the State Revenue Committee, about 13.5 billion drams were collected as profit tax, about 15.1bln drams as personal income tax, about 1.24bln drams as VAT and about 3bln drams as other taxes.

The five top banks by the size of paid taxes are Ameriabank – about 4.76bln drams (18th in the list of 1000 largest taxpayers), ACBA bank – about 4.15bln drams (21st), Ardshinbank – over 3.6bln drams (24th), Inecobank – over 3bln drams (32nd) and Armbusinessbank – about  2.66bln drams (42nd).

Converse bank paid  about  2.24bln drams (53rd place), ArmSwissbank – about  2.20bln drams (55th place), VTB Bank (Armenia) – about 1.97bln drams (64th place), Armeconombank -about 1.7 bln drams (76th-place), IDBank – about 1.24 bln drams (95th-place), HSBC Bank Armenia – about 1.22 bln drams (96th-place), and Ararat bank – about 1.15 bln drams (99th-place).

Also, Unibank paid  about 1.05 billion drams (111th place), Evocabank – about 765.8 million drams (151st), Mellat Bank – about 317.4 million drams (194th place) and Byblos Bank Armenia – about 435.5 million drams (276th place).

Artsakhbank (central branch), which used to be in the list of top 1000 taxpayers in Armenia, is not included in the reports for the first quarter of 2022 and for the first half of the year.

To recall, in 2021, Artsakhbank (central branch) paid about 232.7 million drams in taxes coming as 888th in the list of 1000 largest taxpayers. The Central Bank of Armenia paid more than 911.9 million drams.

Armenia’s 1000 largest corporate taxpayers paid 722 billion and 325 million drams in various taxes in the first half of 2022. 

According to the SRC, some 613 billion 72 million drams were collected by the tax authorities and than 109 billion 253 million drams by the customs agencies.

The list is topped by the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, which paid a total of 104.8 billion drams. It is followed by Gazprom Armenia Company, which paid more than 33 billion drams and Grand Tobacco with more than 20 billion drams of paid taxes.  ($1 – 409.43 drams) -0-
