Inflation in Armenia will slow down and stabilize around 4% in second half of 2023 – Central Bank

YEREVAN, March 15. /ARKA/. The 12-month inflation in Armenia, according to the monetary policy scenario, will gradually slow down and stabilize around the target 4% from the second half of 2023, Armenian Central Bank chairman Martin Galstyan said.

“The Central Bank Board will be consistent in ensuring inflation stabilization through proportionate actions and in neutralizing any risk of loosening inflation expectations,” he said at a news conference Tuesday.

The Central Bank decided today to leave the refinancing rate unchanged at 10.75%. The last time the regulator changed the refinancing rate was on December 13, when the benchmark rate was upped by 0.25 percentage points to 10.75%.

Armenian government’s growth projection for 2002 is 7%, while inflation is set at 4% (±1.5%). -0-
