In partnership with Acba Bank solar power plant installed in Armenian Talin

YEREVAN, May 31. /ARKA/. A 5 MW solar photovoltaic plant has been built in the Armenian town of Talin in partnership with Acba Bank.

The Talin-2 plant, located on about 8 hectares, annually generates 10 million kWh of electricity, which is supplied to the Armenian power grid.

The solar power plant was founded by Karapet Ohanyan and his friends. While looking for a suitable location, they found out that after Gegharkunik region Talin is second settlement in Armenia with the most sunny days. There is a lot of sunshine here, which is the main condition for the development of green energy.

The “smart” power plant is controlled by a smartphone remotely, which allows to manage  the entire process of the plant and even turn it off.

The partner of the innovative plant is the Acba Bank, which emphasizes participation in projects to ensure the energy stability and independence of the country and to promote green energy.

The founders of Talin 2 solar power plant are also planning to build a greenhouse and a refrigerating facility on the territory of the plant. Karapet Ohanyan and his friends started a construction project in Dilijan with Acba Bank as a partner.

“I have been personally cooperating with Acba Bank for 20 years. When we started the solar power plant project, we applied to Acba Bank among other banks, and it offered us the best terms in the market. Moreover, when the well-known events took place – covid and the war (in Nagorno-Karabakh), the economic situation led to higher prices and implementation of this project became more expensive, but Acba acted as a real partner, refinanced and increased our financial resources, enabling us to accomplish our project. We are also working with Acba Bank on our next projects,” said Karapet Ohanyan, one of the co-founders of Talin 2 solar photovoltaic plant.

Acba Bbank is controlled by the Central Bank of Armenia.
