Viva-MTS: investments ensure sustainable development through innovative solutions

YEREVAN, December 29. /ARKA/. Viva-MTS, being the leader in the field of information and telecommunication technologies (ICT) in Armenia, is implementing social investment projects based on its corporate social responsibility (CSR), the company’s press service reported.

Viva-MTS is the first Armenian company to apply CSR as a management model and the first operator to be guided by ISO 26000 international principles of social responsibility.

At Viva-MTS, where corporate responsibility is the basis of management culture, CSR is enshrined at the institutional level.

Social investments are the basis for sustainable development. Viva-MTS stops supporting individual projects that became self-sufficient after a long cooperation, which allows them to acquire new partners and sponsors. At the same time, Viva-MTS continues to support those who still need sustainable development and support.

“For Viva-MTS employees, corporate social responsibility has been and remains not only an idea, but also an everyday practice. We are confident that as a business-oriented organization we have been able to make the importance of CSR tangible. It is not by chance that many organizations are already following our example and introducing the CSR concept into their community support programs,” noted Viva-MTS General Manager Armen Avetisyan.

In total, Viva-MTS has allocated more than AMD 221 million for social investments in 2023 and AMD 27.8 billion over 17 years. This year, the National Autism Foundation joined the company’s partners, which provides educational, rehabilitation, vocational courses and employment for children and adults with autism and other developmental disorders in its day center for social habilitation, education and vocational training. In the healthcare sector, cooperation continued with the SORS Foundation, which provides personal assistant services to children with cerebral palsy.

The Company also continued investment programs in the field of ICT education, in particular, acting as the main partner of the State Award for Global Investments in High Technologies, continued supporting the Startup Academy of Armenia’s “Traction” program, which aims to help startups that already have products and have achieved results to grow and attract investments.

In 2023, the Association of Armenian Internet Media and Journalists NGO announced the “Startup” educational program, within the framework of which 12 schoolchildren will receive basic knowledge about the startup ecosystem and learn from the experience of successful startup companies. As in previous years, in 2023, the National Polytechnic University of Armenia in cooperation with Viva-MTS supported smart labs.

The My Forest Armenia and the Foundation for Protection of Wildlife and Cultural Values (FPWC) were supported within the framework of environmental protection programs.

Viva-MTS also supports the regions, using new technologies to reduce the burden on villages and narrow the development gap between the capital and the regions.

The Company continues to support the Paros Choir, which is part of the Unison NGO and has been representing Armenia on different stages of the world for 30 years.

Being a leader in its field, Viva-MTS supports ICT projects contributing to the development of Armenia’s competitive advantages.

Viva-MTS is a leader in innovations and uses all the achievements of the industry for the benefit of the mobile communication market of the country.

Viva-MTS is guided by ISO 26000 (international standard of social responsibility) and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (information security management system) standards. -0-
