Charles Aznavour’s art will be presented in a new and unique way

YEREVAN, April 11. /ARKA/. Acba Bank, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund and the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia have partnered to make it possible to listen to the best works of the world-famous chansonist, the great Armenian Charles Aznavour, with a symphonic performance.

The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra will present Charles Aznavour’s famous and popular compositions under the label of the world-famous Deutsche Grammophon, the world’s oldest recording company with a history of around 126 years, and a unique album dedicated to Aznavour’s 100-year anniversary.

The project of international importance to present Aznavour’s cultural heritage to the world in a new and unique way, in cooperation with the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, was financed by the non-cash payments made by Acba Bank Visa Charitable cardholders, which Acba Bank directs to the special account of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund at its own expense.

“A series of events on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Charles Aznavour, has started in Armenia, and there is a very important event in that series. That event is a new presentation of Charles Aznavour’s works, performed by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. I would like to thank all Acba Bank Visa Charitable cardholders who indirectly participate in the financing of such projects,” said Hakob Andreasyan, Chief Executive Officer of Acba Bank.

“Aznavour was a member of the board of trustees of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund from 1992 until his death. This program is not just music; it creates added value; we are on a musical high ground, and this album will be distributed all over the world by all possible means,” said Haykak Arshamyan, executive director of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.

“It is a great responsibility and honor to present Armenian composer Charles Aznavour at Deutsche Grammophon. This is a great achievement for our art and Aznavour’s legacy, because we represent an artist we are proud of. Charles Aznavour is an Armenian, a composer-author who has motivated generations. This project brought together like-minded people. I am grateful to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund and Acba Bank, who stood by the initiative in a very short period of time, we needed it very much and with this project we will have an international quality product”, noted the artistic director and chief conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Sergey Smbatyan.

On May 22, Charles Aznavour’s birthday, the album will be available on all music platforms, becoming a unique gift to the world.

International artists participated in the recording of the album. The soloist of the project is the famous French cellist Camille Thomas, who transferred the Aznavourian energy to the works with her symphony orchestra. The wife of the 23rd President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, Carla Bruni is also one of the artists invited to the recording.
