WB names main reason for reduction of inflation in Armenia to 0.6 per cent in September

YEREVAN, 22 October. /ARKA/. Armenia’s inflation in September 2024 was 0.6 percent (yoy), dropping from 1.3 percent (yoy) in August, the World Bank said in ‘Armenia Monthly Economic Update – October 2024.’

‘One percent deflation in food prices was the main reason for the fall. Meanwhile, inflation in transport services reached 9 percent (yoy) in September. Average inflation for January-September 2024 was flat (zero percent).  ‘

Armenian state budget for 2024 envisages inflation at the level of 4 per cent (±1.5 per cent). According to the Central Bank, inflation in 2024 is expected to be within 2.1-2 per cent. The WB expects it to be 3% in 2024, 3.5% in 2025 and 4% in 2026. -0-
