EBRD to launch capital markets support program in Armenia – Managing Director

YEREVAN, November 27. /ARKA/. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with support from the EU will launch Capital Markets Support Program to boost the local capital markets and create alternative financing solutions for the local SMEs, EBRD Managing Director for Turkey and the Caucasus Elisabetta Falcetti said.  

‘’The program aims to provide assistance to Armenian corporate issuers of bonds and equity, through tailored capacity-building and grant co-financing of issuance-related expenses,’’ she noted in an interview with the ‘’ARKA’’ agency.

The EBRD is one of the leading institutional investors in Armenia. The Bank’s key priorities in Armenia include enhancing the competitiveness of companies and supporting financial sector intermediation through risk-sharing products. Since its establishment in Armenia, the EBRD has invested €2.4 billion through 220 programmes in the energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, and finance sectors.
