EDB forecasts Armenia’s economic growth of 5.5% in 2025

YEREVAN, March 31. /ARКА/. In its weekly macroeconomic review, the EDB forecasts Armenia’s economic growth to be 5.5% in 2025.

The document notes that economic activity in Armenia increased by 4.1% year-on-year in January-February 2025. “The growth was driven by the services sector (+12.4% year-on-year), construction (+12.2% year-on-year), and trade (+7.8% year-on-year). A decline in the industrial sector (-19.4% year-on-year) and negative dynamics in exports (-50.7% year-on-year) and imports (-45.8% year-on-year) persisted due to the exhaustion of the positive effect from the increased foreign trade and precious metals processing at the beginning of last year,” the macroeconomic review states.

The EDB expects economic activity to accelerate in the second half of the year as industrial output recovers, forecasting Armenia’s GDP growth to reach 5.5% in 2025.
